I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
