Automobiles in Germany's City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities stated they were notified by a resident who found a car in Hanau smeared with reddish substance

Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a official communication.

Officers say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered many other smeared automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report early analysis suggest the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to its origin; officials are presently not aware of any injuries in association with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the public for information.

A senior political figure said the attack rendered him without words and had to be resolved promptly.

"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine victims by a shooter aiming at residents of migrant background in February 2020.
